What Self Vibe for Business does, what it costs, and how it handles the parts of running a salon that are easy to get wrong.
The basics
How do I use Self Vibe for business?
Sign up for a free business account, set up your profile with your services, prices and availability, and start accepting bookings right away. You can manage appointments, clients and payments all from one dashboard.
What is a business account?
A business account is a free professional account that unlocks Self Vibe's full suite of business tools — online bookings, client management, automated reminders and analytics — so you can run and grow your business in one place.
Should I have a separate Self Vibe account for my business?
Yes. A dedicated business account keeps your professional profile separate from your personal one, gives clients a clear place to find and book you, and unlocks business-only tools like analytics and marketing.
What are the benefits of using Self Vibe for my business?
Self Vibe helps you get discovered by new customers, fill your calendar with online bookings, reduce no-shows with automatic reminders, and understand your growth with clear reports — all completely free to use.
Is it easy to sell on Self Vibe?
Very. List your services and products with prices, and customers can book and pay in just a few taps. Everything is tracked in your dashboard, so you always know how your business is doing.
Which countries does Self Vibe for Business support?
Self Vibe for Business supports beauty and wellness businesses in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. The software is in English, and prices are shown in your local currency.
What kinds of businesses use Self Vibe?
Hair salons, barbershops, spas, nail studios, braiding and locs specialists, beauty clinics and independent stylists all use Self Vibe. It suits a single chair as well as a multi-branch salon with a full team.
Getting started
How long does it take to set up?
Most businesses are taking bookings the same day. Setup walks you through four things: your business details and location, your service list with prices and durations, your working hours, and your team members. You can add products, memberships and gift cards later.
Can I move my existing clients and appointments over?
Yes. You can add clients individually or bring over an existing list, and enter any appointments already in your book so nothing is lost on the day you switch. Client records hold contact details, appointment and sales history, notes and files.
Do I need a computer, or can I run everything from my phone?
Either. Self Vibe for Business runs in any browser and as a mobile app for iOS and Android, and both show the same calendar, clients and sales. Many owners run the day from their phone and use a laptop for reports and catalog changes.
What happens to my existing customers when I join?
They keep booking with you as they always have — by phone, by message, or by walking in — and you enter those appointments yourself. Your online booking link gives them a way to book without messaging you, which most clients use once they know it exists.
Bookings and calendar
How do online bookings reach my calendar?
A booking made by a client in the Self Vibe customer app or through your booking link lands directly in your calendar, assigned to the right team member and blocking the right amount of time for the service. There is nothing to copy over by hand.
Can I stop clients from booking certain times?
Yes. Your working hours set when you are bookable, and you can block out individual times for breaks, travel, holidays or private appointments. Each team member has their own hours, so a stylist working mornings only is never booked for an afternoon.
How does Self Vibe reduce no-shows?
Clients get automatic appointment reminders, so far fewer forget. You can also take a deposit at the time of booking, which gives a client a reason to show up or to cancel early enough for you to refill the slot.
Can clients book a specific stylist or barber?
Yes. Clients can choose the professional they want, and each professional has their own profile, service list and schedule. Clients without a preference can book the first available team member.
Payments and pricing
What does Self Vibe cost?
Self Vibe is free for beauty and wellness businesses to use. Optional features, such as promotions, may carry additional costs. Current details are on partners.selfvibe.io.
How do I get paid?
You can take payment in the app at checkout or in person at your counter, and record it either way, so your sales figures reflect everything you took that day — cash included. Every sale produces an invoice you can send to the client.
Can I take deposits?
Yes. You can ask for a deposit when a client books, which is credited against the final bill at checkout. Deposits are most useful for long appointments and for services where a no-show costs you a large block of the day.
Can I sell gift cards and memberships?
Yes. Both are part of the catalog. Gift cards are sold and redeemed at checkout, and memberships let a client pay for a recurring package of services. Each is tracked, so you can see what has been sold and what is still outstanding.
Team and branches
Can I add my staff?
Yes. Invite each team member to their own account, set their working hours, and choose which services they perform. Their appointments appear on the shared calendar, and their sales are attributed to them in reports.
Can staff see everything in the business?
No. Team members get access appropriate to their role, so a stylist can work their own column of the calendar without seeing the business's full financial reporting. Owners and managers see the whole picture.
Does it work for a salon with more than one branch?
Yes. Each branch is its own workspace with its own calendar, team and service list, and you switch between them from the same account.
Clients and marketing
What do client records hold?
Each client has contact details, their full appointment and sales history, reviews they have left, and any notes or files you attach — allergies, formulas, consultation forms, before-and-after photos. Anyone serving that client can see what was done last time.
Can I market to my own clients?
Yes. You can send campaigns and offers to your own client list, and set up automated messages that go out on their own. Deals can be attached to specific services to fill quiet periods.
Who owns my client data?
Your clients are yours. Their records, contact details and history belong to your business, and you can export them.
